Abstract: In 1993, the new engineering contract (NEC) was launched by ICE to encourage the “team spirit&rdquoIn 2009, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government introduced NEC tentatively.The experience of the first project using NEC was introduced in the paper.The project results show that the NEC can save the duration and cost, reduce the contract disputes andincrease effectiveness, which enhances the confidence of the engineering industry for introducing NEC
